It seems the current product now comes with the very useful remote but not the microphone, so I think it would be cheaper buying camera and remote/mic separately. We bought the Git2 along with a number of separate accessories including the remote 'watch' strap and external microphone, three extra batteries and charger and a big, cheap kit of mounts. I researched endlessly online and found that the Git2 offered arguably the best features amongst the hordes of similar GoPro copies including the SJ5000 Elite. In the end we couldn't justify ВЈ400 for a tiny camera that might be broken. We bought this when it was ВЈ105 a few weeks ago having pined for a long time over a GoPro Hero 4 Black. I actually think that the Yi I ordered had the 'out of focus lens' issue but I wasn't prepared to take a brand new camera apart and remove the glue in order to focus the lens! Having tested the video results from both the Yi and the Git2, I can say that the Git2 is much sharper, night video is clearer (but more grainy), the audio is better and all round it is an easier camera to use. Yes the Git2 is more expensive but it comes with more accessories to begin with, has better battery life, has gyro video stabilization, an LCD screen so no need to take your expensive smartphone to the beach in order to change camera settings, and it has the same dimensions as the GoPro so can fit in all the various accessories. While I was waiting for the Yi to be delivered, I heard the Git2 mentioned in a number of forums and YouTube comments. I decided to order the Xaiomi Yi and a bunch of accessories. Having spent many hours looking at YouTube videos comparing the chinese action cams to the GoPro, it was clear where my money was better spent. I originally had wanted a GoPro having seen several offers around Christmas 2015 for around ВЈ150, but having looked into it the cheapest one on the market now is the GoPro Hero 4 Silver which is ВЈ289! Using the wifi option it reduced the life quite considerably, but for setting up, I guess it only needs to be on for a short while.Д¬annot recommend this more for an excellent budget camera

The battery is quite generic, and the compartment actually fits another action camera battery that I have already, so I have a couple of spares - I'd recommend getting a couple as the battery life was about 70 minutes when I tried it from full, which isn't bad. Sound is very good when not in the housing (haven't used it in the housing yet), and there are ports for HDMI out and a micro USB input for charging or an external microphone (of which I still have a few to try out to see which would be best for me). The latter is what I use, and the screen is crystal clear.

It handles 2.7k at 30fps, and 1080p at 60fps.

The camera is very well built, as you'd expect from a Viofo company, and the quality is excellent.

This has always been on my radar, and I finally was in a position to purchase through the warehouse (so a great price too). I'd been after an action camera for some time for motovlogging and general security while riding bicycles and motorcycles.
